Easter Frenzy Is Here

As various churches do their final checklist prior to the Easter Holidays, so are the entertainment promoters.

Most are finalising their arrangements for shows billed for various entertainment spots across the country.

Line-ups are concluded stages are set to wow revellers, BOPA caught up with seasoned promoter ,Gilbert Seagile aka PP, who is the organiser of Easter Bunnies slated for Serowe on Good Friday. The event is penciled for Serowe showground and line up entails local and South African artistes.

PP said the show’s line-up would be a mixed bag of goodies to meet all age groups. He said most people were travelling to the villages and so it was fit to hold the event in Serowe.

The show’s line-up includes South African musicians Shota, Trade Mark of Shumaya fame, DJ Zinhle, The Josh, Jika Boys while Botswana will be represented by Jojo, Mzekhula, Ricky Lamar, Fondo Fire, DJ King, DJ Spin, Franky Jay, GC’s finest Kayz. The show is supported by Prime reign entertainment, Boggie Time.

While those in Gaborone and its periphery will have a memorable Easter at Gaborone International Jazz festival (GIJF) slated for Serokolwane farms on April 4. The Jazzonthelawn organizer, versatile Lesedi Rakhudu said the outdoor event will give revellers what their money is worth.

Meanwhile, the GIJF organisers will host a ‘Master Class’ to empower those who wish to grow in the music industry with knowledge on how to improve and compete on an international platform.

The class will be held on April 2 and topics that will be covered include trends on new equipment, market access and branding. The Master Class will kick-off from 9am to 12pm at The Grand Palm Hotel. The Master Class will only accommodate 100 people meaning the first 100 people to register will benefit.

Meanwhile, award winning Kwaito quartet Eskimos will continue to promote their album ‘Glory’. They will wow their fans at El Paso night club in Selebi Phikwe on Saturday April 4. They will share stage with Juju boy, while resident DJ Bino and DJ Skeer will be behind the turntables. Springnyce will steer the events as the MC.

The show is part of their continental tour after missing in the showbiz for seven years and they promise to make it up to their fans.
