Gunners Launches Website

| April 29, 2015

Extension Gunners followers and other stakeholders will, from this week, just press a button to access information about the club.

This followed the April 27 launch of the club’s website that will carry, amongst others, information on the club’s history, its players, fan base and partners in Lobatse.

Extension Gunners chairperson, Kitso Dlamini, said the website was a great stride towards informing the club’s stakeholders on its core business through information technology (IT). Dlamini said as communication inculcated self-reliance into people to build a better generation across all cohots of life, the clubs website came as a platform to embrace that.

“Through this website, Extension Gunners Football club stakeholders will now have access to quality information,” he said.

Since the club was also on facebook and twitter, Dlamini said there was great potential for these instruments to assist in improving communication platforms thus serving the clients more effectively.

With such media platforms, he said, the impact of social media could not be underestimated nor denied hence credibility status being accorded to organisations such as media platforms.

Dlamini said as the current generation indulged more on social networking sites, therefore the football club recognised the need to capitalise on it. He, therefor,e encouraged the public to log into the website, facebook and twitter handle to provide feedback on how they could be better served.

He appreciated the Cumberland Hotel, which sponsored the website development at the tune of P20 000, and for being a supportive partner for the past three years.

For his part, Cumberland Hotel Management representative, Mr Tshepo Koma extolled the hotel’s partnership with the football team saying it had been of great benefit to both entities.

Mr Koma said since the past two seasons when they started their partnership in offering accommodation and food to the team during camps, the team’s performance had improved. Not only has the partnership improved the team’s performance in the field but also the hotel in its daily operations.

He assured the football club of its continued support in whatever way possible to assure continuity of the team’s better performance in the premier league and the tournaments played locally and across the borders. He said the partnership was important as it also forms part of the team’s history.

Extension Gunners public relations officer, Keorapetse Kgasa, said the team has a vast support across the country and beyond hence the need to have its official communication platform such as a website.

For many years, he said the club commanded the highest support base, who had been loyal to the team that had never disappointed as it has always performed well in the premier league.

He said the website therefore came as a way to put the loyal supporters who are far away and beyond, the chance to access information about their club.

Giving the overview of the website, Letsweletse Letsweletse said the website carries a lot of features such as the latest team news, league table and match results. It also has a locked picture gallery of which only the club’s members can have full access to.

The site also had an allocated paid for aertising slot of which Letsweletse encouraged both individuals and companies to utilise for giving their products some mileage.

Letsweletse said, the website launched was the only club’s official domain and therefore pleaded with members of the public who had opened other media domains claiming to be the club’s official websites to close them down.

He said it was important for the club followers to have clarity and access to the club’s genuine and official website without confusion, and therefore requested all to close down the unofficial sites as well as fake facebook pages.
