Chairperson of Pelotelele Ward Development Committee in Francistown, Ms Monnawe Poifo says lack of plot allocations for community developments is worrisome.

Ms Poifo said this during a kgotla meeting addressed by the Member of Parliamentary (MP) for Francistown East, Mr Buti Billy recently. She said their ward had a lot of spaces on which they could build a community cregraveche.

She highlighted that there was a lot of confusion regarding where to get services between Monarch and Ntshe because they do not know where they fall in terms of requesting for services.

She urged the MP to call a meeting of both wards to settle the matter, adding that a footbridge between the wards should be constructed for easy access to either side. Ms Poifo also complained about poor workmanship in the construction of Lekgaba Primary School, adding that the school was already falling apart.

She requested that maintenance be carried out to renovate it. She also requested the MP to assist them to find a company which could adopt Lekgaba Primary School for the benefit of the children and the community.

The VDC leader also complained about a night club operating near their homesteads, saying it destructed pupils from studying

Monarch deputy court president, Kgosi Motlatsi Kediseng complained about the crime situation in the area, saying residents contributed to the problem by accommodating illegal immigrants and having relationships with them.

Kgosi Kediseng encouraged young people in the area to utilise government programmes and pleaded with them to stop their criminal activities.

MP Billy promised to assist residents on finding partners who could adopt their school, and encouraged residents of Pelotelele ward to find ways of raising funds to construct a park on the nearby hill side to attract tourists. He also urged young people to participate in crime prevention teams because they could assist easily with information.
