Gaborone West-based youthful choir, Maikano Serenaders and South Africa’s North West University Serenaders, over the weekend cemented their partnership through a choral musical concert.

The two Serenaders shared the stage in a concert, which marked one year of official partnership that started in May last year.

There was no doubt, both choirs proved immense singing talent as they fascinated choral music fanatics with a variety of sweet melodious pieces. It was not only the singing aspect that charmed the audience, rather the attires of both choirs were also amazing.

Those who attended the show when the partnership started last year would tell that there was indeed growth in performance from both choirs in the second show.

Choral music lovers did not regret their time for thronging Maruapula hall as they were treated to a variety of music in songs such as Themba Moya, Ngiyakholwa, Sing unto God, Bayethe Mandela, Letsatsi la hao Morena, Come again sweet love and Kwadendangedale, among many others.

Nonetheless, the hosts, Maikano Serenaders first made its appearance in the local choral scenes back in 2006 which then followed a successful launch in June of 2007.

They have taken part in various competitions both locally and in the neighbouring countries especially South Africa at the Old Mutual National Choir Festival. They scooped three trophies during the 2014 beMOBILE choir challenge.
