MYSC Takes Services to People

| April 21, 2015

Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture (MYSC) brought residents of Francistown together on April 17 at Galo Mall in an initiative of bringing services to the people.

District youth coordinator in the northern region, Ms Minkie Bokole, said the motive behind the event was to bring their services to the customers.

Ms Bokole said they wanted to showcase all those who have worked hard and achieved a lot through their programmes.

The youth were given the platform to showcase their different business ventures that they got through the assistance of government. They also promoted their products as a marketing strategy and also motivated those who have not benefited.

Furthermore, Ms Bokole mentioned that this event gave the ministry management an opportunity to interact with other stakeholders. “I am proud that Francistown had to host such an event, more especially after hosting the Senior Management Forum 2015-2016, which has an impact on the economy of the city and I am really happy with the support we get from our ministry,” said Ms Bokole.

In closing remarks, the Member of Parliament for Francistown East, Mr Buti Billy said that he was glad that the government has come up with programmes that are beneficial to the youth.

He said in most cases, the youth who are unemployed, become too much distracted and often engage in worrisome behaviour. Mr Billy urged the ministry to continue educating and mentoring the youth as they are the future leaders.
