Police in Search of Nata Man Killers

| April 28, 2015

Molepolole police have launched a manhunt for assailants who allegedly murdered a Nata man. His body was found in a bushy area around Magokotswane ward in Molepolole recently.

Senior Superintendent Kevin Mookodi said in interview that the 54-year-old man was allegedly kidnapped by unknown assailants while arriving at his Gaborone home in Phase Two. He was reportedly from a church service.

Senior Superintendent Mookodi said the victim might have been strangled or suffocated as no visible injuries were noticed. The assilants stole a Toyota Hi-lux Dakar that the deceased, a lecturer at the University of Botswana, was driving.

The incident was reported to Gaborone West police soon after the kidnapping and his corpse was spotted by a passerby in Molepolole on April 23. Mr Mookodi assured the public that the police would work tirelessly to ensure that perpetrators were brought to book to pay for their mischievous deeds.

He also reported an incident in Molepolole where a Toyota Fortuna was stolen while parked in one of the bars last week. The vehicle was allegedly found with keys in its ignition with one occupant who was forced out before the perpetrators disappeared with the said vehicle.

Both vehicles in the two separate incidents, Mr Mookodi stated, had not yet been recovered. Meanwhile a handsome reward will be offered to any person who could help with information that could lead to the arrest of suspects.
