Selebi Phikwe Rolls Out Ipelegeng

Ipelegeng programme in Selebi Phikwe will engage 1 330 beneficiaries per month for the financial year 20152016, says mayor of Selebi Phikwe, Mr Amogelang Mojuta.

Addressing the Selebi Phikwe full council meeting on Wednesday (May 20), the mayor said, out of the total number, 742 beneficiaries would be in the Selebi Phikwe East constituency and 588 in the Selebi Phikwe West constituency.

He said since April up to date, 933 beneficiaries engaged in the programme are females while 397 are males. He said the number comprises 885 youth out of which 645 are females and 240 are males.

Mr Mojuta also noted that 34 various projects would be implemented through the programme, adding the projects comprise 10 maintenance projects, 15 minor construction projects, three fencing and six purely labour intensive projects.

He stated that the programme’s budget stands at P12.8 million adding that the funds had not yet been disbursed to Selebi Phikwe for implementation of projects.

He said so far, expenditure to date for labour and materials stands at P826 849. Regarding the feeding programme, mayor Mojuta noted that beginning April this year, a total of 52 suppliers had been engaged.

The programme has been funded at an estimated cost of P2.2 million and the funds had not yet been disbursed for implementation.
