Skavenja Back With Bang

Skavenja Tiro is back again with a bang, the soulful Afro Pop artist, has matured, grown and brings ample experience to his new album that will be released in May.

It comprises of sweet melodies of his robust voice from the Matshidiso fame that he co-sang with Afro-pop sensation Kgotla. He last released an album back in 2010, featuring the likes of Lizibo and Smarh of the Ndobolo fame, and this will be his 3rd official studio album.

In addition, Skavenja’s upcoming album is produced by Thabo Ledwaba who is a renowned South African producer, Kitso Mauchaza of Naska productions in Broadhurst in Gaborone. He wrote all his song, backing vocals and choreography.

The singer has also given a heartfelt live performance and one of Gaborone’s prominent and High Tee restaurants, Flava at the Molapo Piazza a fortnight ago.

Also, he stated that he upped the tempo, with each song having an intellectual meaning behind, be it about everyday experiences, hope, faith and the most important thing being love.

“I normally choose to sing about love in my songs because I believe love is what makes the whole world go round. It is also difficult to find genuine love in the modern day, so I take it as a very beautiful thing to sing about, whilst encouraging some and celebrating it,” he said.

The 15 track album is awarding winning soulful material that has a fusion of Afro-pop, Afro-jazz, Afro-house, and also a hit song in the ever-changing creative industry.

He said house is an integral part of a song as it appeals to many audiences, both the young and old, corporate events and social events such as weddings, house music brings the masses together.

It also includes hits like Morwaetsana, Thola, Dolly and Life is gud which upon listening to them, I would give them an 810 and believe will become household anthems.

He said, “I have been working on this album for the past two years and I believe it will show Batswana a different side of me, mature, experienced and a more poised Afro-pop singer,” he said.

Further, he mentioned that the target audience for the album is all age groups because he believes in music that can touch a grandmother, or a school girl experiencing her first crush.

The talented artist also performs for corporate events, weddings, private functions, and choreography of any occasion.
