Spiking Stars Win Weekend Games

| April 20, 2015

Ramotswa-based side, Spiking Stars, thrashed all their opponents at a volleyball extravaganza at Serowe College of Education on April 18.

Though they pitched up late for their Mascom Volleyball League encounter with Mag Stimela, the Ramotswa outfit managed to outwit Mahalapye side by 3-0. In the spellbinding first set, Stars emerged victors with a 25-19, 25-22 for the second set before repeating a 25-19 scoreline in the last set.

In their second game where they lost the first set, Stars put their acts together to run away with a 3-1 victory against Francistown side Diphatsa. In the first set they went down 18-25 but bounced back to win 25-23, 25-17 and 25-18.

Though many teams managed to salvage some points, Tanian found the going tough and continued with their poor showing that saw them finish last in the previous season.

The Serowe outfit went down 3-0 to Prisons VI before losing 1-3 against visiting Itekeng. In other games Diphatsa beat Itekeng 3-2 in a pulsating encounter. MagStimela beat Prisons VI 3-2.
