| April 13, 2015

Four primary school and four junior secondary school teachers turned down offers of appointment to serve in Salajwe in 2013.

Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development, Mr Moiseraele Goya, said this when responding to a question in Parliament. He said one boarding master turned down the offer of appointment to serve in Salajwe school in 2014.

He further said two teachers were promoted to senior teacher one position in January and February 2014 within the region without competing with those in other areas.

He said all the vacancies created by the decline of appointments which included eight teachers and a boarding master were filled in 2014. MP Ngaka Ngaka of Takatokwane had wanted to know how many candidates turned down the offer of appointment to serve in both Salajwe Schools in 2013 and 2014.

He also wanted to know how many had been promoted without competing for higher positions with those in other areas within the region. The MP also wanted to know what effort has been made to address the situation.
