AMGOLAN PRESIDENT SEND CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE TO BOTSWANA COUNTERPART

LUANDA-- Angolan President JoAPound o Lourenco has sent a congratulatory message to his Botswana counterpart, President Mokgweetsi Keabetswe Masisi, on the 52nd independence anniversary of that southern African country on Sunday.

In the message, the Angolan Head of State extended wishes for the happiness and prosperity of the people of Botswana and reiterated the desire to continue working with his African counterpart in efforts to strengthen both countries' stability and progress.

On this date of transcendent meaning for your country, I am pleased to notice the progresses recorded by Botswana for the sake of democracy and social economic development consolidation, contributing, thus, to the strengthening of our common regional integration project," wrote the Angolan President.

Botswana proclaimed its independence on Sept 30 of 1966 and the country is currently a member of the African Union, the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) as well as of the Commonwealth and United Nations.
