Spar has opened yet another supermarket in Serowe.
The store has also created employment for the people of Serowe as well as provide more diversity and competition. There are already two Choppies supermarkets in Serowe, one at Botalaote and another directly opposite the new Spar. Over and above, there is also a Shoprite supermarket in the same locality.
Ever since setting its foot in Botswana in 1982, Spar has been eulogised as a ‘spotlessly clean’ supermarket that sells items that are healthy for its customers.
Officially opening the supermarket last week at the Central Business District, Kgosi Serogola Seretse urged residents to buy from the store, saying the gesture would have a ripple effect on the community as the supermarket would in turn give back to the community.
He hailed Spar for their continued growth since they first established business in Botswana.
The supermarket now has 25 shops in the country, seven of which are superstores.
The deputy chief challenged the management to consider sponsoring one of the Serowe Be Mobile Premier League teams as a way of supporting the community.
