BCL Mine divisional manager- organisational capability, Mr Motsile Sibanda, says the media plays an important role of disseminating information to members of the public and other stakeholders.
Mr Sibanda explained that it was only when the media was fully engaged and informed about what happened at BCL Mine that the rest of the world would be kept informed. “One of the critical success factors around any business is really about what consumers and stakeholders know,” he said.
He was addressing the media after a tour of the BCL Mine recently. He explained that the objective of the two-day media forum was to share information and learn from one another as well as to build an understanding and trust on issues of common interest.
Further, Mr Sibanda said the journey through the BCL Mine operations gave the media an insight and firm understanding of what BCL Mine does, and what they aim for the future. He said the experience gained would be news worthy for readership and audience.
Mr Sibanda highlighted that without the media, BCL would not survive the information age and may not be able to become an all-inclusive knowledge based society.
“BCL is proud of the lengthy and mutually beneficial working relations with the media,” he said.
