BDF bands concert thrills Ghetto

Hundreds of revellers thronged Adansonia Hotel hall in Francistown to witness the brilliant performances of the Botswana Defence Force (BDF) band concert.

The concert featured different music genres such as rhumba, rock ‘n’ roll, kwaito and traditional. In an interview, the BDF public relations officer, Captain Bokang Gaobotse said through the initiative, the BDF sought to to reach out and give back to the community.

He stated that the concert’s objectives included raising funds to aid charity organisations in line with the Vision 2016 pillar of being a compassionate, just and caring nation. Captain Gaobotse noted that the BDF musical appeal in aid of charity had awarded True Men Trust and Tozwimilidza Muhamuchile Support Group from Nlapkhwane P15 000 each.

He said the first show for this year’s series of concerts was held at Sir Seretse Khama Barracks Auditorium.

Furthermore, he noted that they staged shows in Selebi Phikwe, Palapye and Francistown and they would be rocking it in Orapa, Jwaneng and Kanye on later dates. The BDF has for the past 24 years held annual presentation of BDF bands in concert style as part of its corporate social responsibility.
