Board Opens Portal for Paramilitary Recruitment

Abuja: The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Board (CDCFIB) has announced the opening of its online portal for recruitment into various paramilitary agencies, inviting qualified candidates to apply for full-time positions starting from Thursday. This announcement was made by the board’s Secretary, retired Maj.-Gen. Abdulmalik Jubril, in a statement released on Monday.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Jubril urged candidates interested in joining the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, and the Federal Fire Service to apply via the board’s official recruitment portal: https://recruitment.cdcfib.org. The application process is open for three weeks from the date of the announcement and is free of charge. He stressed that applicants should apply to only one agency, as multiple applications would lead to disqualification.

The recruitment drive includes vacancies for the positions of Superintendent, Inspectorate, and Assistant cadres. For the Superintendent of Corrections (CONMESS 09) position, applicable only to the Nigerian Correctional Service, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in medicine and surgery. The Assistant Superintendent I (CONPASS 09) role, available only in the Federal Fire Service, requires a Degree in Law or a BSc in fields such as Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Water Engineering. For the Assistant Superintendent II (CONPASS 8) position, available in the NSCDC, Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Immigration Service, candidates need a BSc or Higher National Diploma.

Jubril also noted that for the Inspector (CONHESS 06) position, applicants must be registered nurses or midwives, with opportunities available in the Nigerian Correctional Service, NSCDC, and Federal Fire Service. Assistant Inspector (CONPASS 06) candidates should have a National Diploma or NCE in a related field. For Assistant II (CONPASS 04), general duty applicants must hold a GCE, Ordinary level, SSCE/NECO, or equivalent with a minimum of five credits in no more than two sittings. Assistant III (general duty) candidates require four credits in similar qualifications.

The Secretary emphasized that mandatory requirements for the recruitment process include Nigerian nationality, appropriate qualifications, medical fitness, and a clean record free of convictions or involvement in financial fraud. Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35.
