The Botswana Confederation of Commerce, Industry amp; Manpower (BOCCIM) has officially changed its name to Business Botswana with immediate effect.
According to a press release, the change of name is necessitated by the need to modernise the current brand so that it speaks to today’s business clientele.
The release further notes that although the name BOCCIM spoke of its mandate and what the organisation represented, it was too long.
It says although the acronym BOCCIM was popular and widely respected by local businesses, it did not portray what the association was about to a new investor.
“The intention is to create a long term brand identity that clearly communicates the organisation’s value proposition to our members and stakeholders.
Business Botswana will continue to be an industry leader in advocating for a conducive business climate in the country and promoting good industrial relations and governance,” states the release.
The release further says the new corporate name signifies the organisation’s transformation into an apex body that is representative of all business in Botswana, both organised business groupings and individual corporates.
It goes on to that Business Botswana will strive to provide crucial services that are important in empowering its members.
As part of the transition, the organisation is launching new services to help Botswana enterprises to meet the challenges presented by today’s competitive business environment.
The release says a new logo and tag line is being created to enhance the Business Botswana corporate identity.
It added that a more complete view of the organisation’s corporate brand identity is planned to be revealed at the launch scheduled for later this year.
