Botswana: ‘JJ’ Demolishes Sankoyo

| February 8, 2016

Francistown - Prolific Township Rollers striker, Jerome 'JJ' Ramatlhakwana was the toast of the day when he scored a brace in his side's 4-0 demolition of Sankoyo Bushbucks in a be Mobile Premiership game played at the new Francistown Sports Complex on Saturday.

The burly striker had a brilliant game before being substituted by Joel Mogorosi in the second half.

Ramatlhakwana showed that he meant business in the early minutes of the game when he beat the defence for pace and scored a brilliant goal, but was judged to be offside in the 4th minute.

Ramatlhakwana did not give up his attack as two minutes later, he opened the score sheet by beating the defence again for pace, and put the ball past advancing Sankoyo goalkeeper, Karabo Ramatlapeng.

On the other side, Popa Popa goalkeeper, Kabelo Dambe had to produce a brilliant save after a powerful shot from Thato Monowe.

Ramatlhakwana continued to pile pressure upfront, with his teammates, Motsholetsi Sikele and Gofaone Tiro combining well with the striker to force errors out of the likes of Gorata Keorapetse.

Gothata Samuenze forced Dambe to tip over the bar after a powerful left footed freekick in the 26th minute, but the resulting corner kick did not produce anything.

Ramatlhakwana was at it again and scored what he thought was his brace in the 40th minute, but was ruled offside again.

The two sides went to recess with Rollers leading 1-0 despite the numerous scoring opportunities created for their strikers.

In the second half, Ramatlhakwana hit the cross bar in the 46th minute with the goalkeeper well beaten.

Sankoyo's captain, Ocean Mpofu was a marvel to watch as he managed to coordinate his side's midfield, but was let done by his strikers.

They could not trouble the Rollers defence manned by the likes of Simisani Mathumo, Tshepo 'Talk Talk' Motlhabankwe and Mogogi 'Gino' Gabonamong.

Rollers left back, Otlantshekela Mooketsi made it 2-0 in the 55th minute after Sankoyo's defence failed to clear a corner kick from Motlhabankwe. The former BDF XI defender celebrated in a stylish manner.

Ramatlhakwana scored his brace in the 70th minute with a close range powerful shot after the Sankoyo defence hesitated to clear a well taken Motlhabankwe free-kick.

Gifted attacking winger, Galabgwe Moyana made it 4-0 in the 77th minute to complete Rollers emphatic victory and cement their position at the top of the beMOBILE league.
