Botswana: Mascom Turns18, Announces E-Schools Project

Mascom Wireless celebrated its 18th year on Wednesday by thanking its loyal customers, offering them a variety of freebies and announcing new CSI projects.

"This will include the Mascom e-schools project which we have started implementing and will be launched shortly. The Mascom e-school project will see Mascom providing FREE internet to ALL public primary and secondary schools in Botswana. As Botswana reaches the end of Vision 2016 and takes on another chapter in Vision 2036, digital literacy is an area that we believe we have an obligation to enhancing. We are Number 1 because of You," said the company's chief communications officer Tebogo Lebotse-Sebego.

Mascom has established a comprehensive mobile telecommunications network with extensive coverage, high quality and a rich variety of innovative products and services.

The company has had numerous CSR initiatives including the Mascom Kitsong Centre which are managed by young Batswana in 95 villages across Botswana.

According to Lebotse-Sebego, this year the company will align its corporate social and brand communications initiatives to the BOT50 Independence celebrations to join the country in celebrating 50 years of independence. "Further we will undertake NEW specific projects and initiatives around BOT50 in order to showcase our contribution to Botswana," she said.
