Deputy Speaker Commends FCT Minister Wike for Prudent Resource Management


Abuja: Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, for his prudent investment of public resources aimed at impacting the lives of residents. The commendation was made during the inauguration of the newly constructed Collector Road CN2 (Zakari Kyari Street), an event attended by President Bola Tinubu to mark his second year in office.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, the road project, which extends from Arterial Road N11 (Ahmadu Bello Way) in Mabushi to Judges Quarters in Katampe District, was constructed by the FCT Administration. Kalu, representing Tinubu at the event, expressed the parliament’s pride in the FCT minister’s efforts. He praised Wike for his commitment to transparency and accountability in implementing the FCT’s budget, noting his ability to deliver projects within budget and timeframe as a testament to his leadership and vision.



Kalu highlighted the parliament’s frequent concern regarding budget appropriations and their implementation, expressing satisfaction with Wike’s performance. He acknowledged Wike’s numerous project inaugurations, emphasizing trust in Wike’s capacity to manage government resources effectively, which directly benefits the residents.



The deputy speaker also noted that the parliament shares Tinubu’s admiration for Wike’s services. He applauded Wike for realizing the aspirations of Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda,’ demonstrating that the guiding principles of this initiative are not mere theoretical constructs.



The News Agency of Nigeria further reports that following the inauguration, Wike inspected the Judges Quarters under construction in Katampe and the N5 Road (Obafemi Awolowo Way) from Life Camp to Ring Road III, which is scheduled for inauguration the following day.
