Gaborone – Minister of Agriculture Mr Patrick Ralotsia has told Parliament that the water discharged into Notwane River from both Phakalane and Broadhurst ponds get tested by Water Utilities Corporation every quarter, and that the water has proved to be safe for agricultural purposes such as crop production.
Mr Ralotsia however said his ministry could not guarantee safety of this water for watering livestock downstream along Notwane River.
MP for Mochudi East Mr Isaac Davids had asked the minister to state if the water flowing down the Notwane River from the effluents/sewage plant was safe for agricultural purposes like crop production and livestock watering.
