Lobatse town clerk, Ms Gabatlotlane Sekwakwa has urged organisations to focus on human resource empowerment at all levels to provide knowledge and skills appropriate to build a sustainable and knowledgeable workforce.

Giving a key note address during Lobatse District Health Management Team (DHMT) award ceremony recently, Ms Sekwakwa said organisations should have the best interest of fellow employees at heart and pay attention to human resource empowerment as she said it allows smooth operations in the organisation.

She said contributions towards the achievement of the organisations’ vision, mission and values lies, to a great extent, in committed and dedicated individuals, whom if recognised will ensure that they work together as a team and achieve better results.

She said the management has the responsibility to build innovative and creative employees through initiatives such as a reward system and course trainings that will motivate employees to execute their duties diligently.

Ms Sekwawa said such awards, play a significant role as it boosts employees morale and promotes hard work and at the same time allows the organisation to evaluate it performance as a health centre.

She further said motivated employees help the organisation to remain stable in all its operations.

Ms Sekwakwa called for employees to be taken through life coaching skills that will build them to be firm and grounded in making sound decisions.

She appealed to all awardees and those who were not awarded to promote quality health care services.

Earlier in her welcome remarks, DHMT head, Ms Julia Mokgatle urged employees to work together as a team for them to help DHMT’s to attain its vision of being a model of excellence in quality health services.
