Green Lovers played an interesting football with a lot of creativity forcing the visiting team to play ping pong as they lacked guidance and experience on the defense that is usually kept intact by Moagi Kediseng who was not in the line-up. Also, the leading goal scorer, Moathodi Ralesotla was below par on the day especially after recess as he missed some chances that he could have converted into good play, losing possession and position easily.

The skilful Rentse Keakabetse and Tumo Keiketile were wonderful throughout the game. During the second half Green Lovers conceded a lot of fouls . Head coach for Gilport Lions, Paradzayi Mandivenga said his side was hungry to win. Mandivenga said because they took an early 2-0 lead there was no time to play as the best way was to defend and prevent the opponents from knocking the ball around.
