HoCSF and Galaxy Backbone Commit to Digitalising Nigerian Government Agencies

Abuja: Nigeria's Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoCSF) and Galaxy Backbone (GBB) have expressed commitment to the digitalisation of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in the country. The HoCSF, Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, made this known during her courtesy visit to Nigeria's data centre under the management of GBB in Abuja.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, GBB is the information technology and shared services provider of the Federal Government of Nigeria. Walson-Jack emphasized that the Office of the HoCSF would continue to ensure all government offices become digital through the services provided by GBB and other related government agencies. She sought collaboration with GBB to advance the digital transformation of the Nigerian civil service.

Walson-Jack highlighted the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025, which concludes this year. She stressed the importance of delivering results by the target date of December 31, aiming for a paperless federal civil service by the year's end.

Earlier, the Managing Director of GBB, Prof. Ibrahim Adeyanyu, stated that the visit underscored President Bola Tinubu's commitment to digital inclusion in core governance in Nigeria. Adeyanyu called for continued support from the HoCSF to achieve ongoing digital transformation through indigenous innovations by the agency.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Rafiu Olarinre, acknowledged the efforts of the HoCSF towards the digital and infrastructural development of Nigeria.
