Two junior karatekas Khaya Groth and Thabang Setshogo left for Jakarta, Indonesia on Monday to attend World Karate Federation junior Championships 2015 to be held over the weekend.
A press release from Botswana Karate Association, says the youthful warriors prepared for the world showdown, given that they have been training hard in maintaining fitness and technique.
Both Khaya and Thabang are Southern African Champions in Kumite under 21 under 76 kg and under 60 kg respectively.
It further says In 2013 Khaya ranked WKF UMBER 17, at a championship held in Greece, whereas it will be the first date on World stage for Africa youth games champion, Thabang Setshogo.
The release further says three officials accompanied them to attend referees and coaching course Mpho Bakwadi and Union Kgafela will sit for refereeing, while Sensei Goitseone Mongologa is expected to qualify as first Motswana female WKF accredited coach. BOKA president David Mathe will lead the delegation and they are expected back on November 20.
