President Lt Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama attended Angola’s 40th anniversary of independence on Wednesday November 11.
He was accompanied by Minister of foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi.
Botswana and Angola relations have continued to flourish since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1975.
It was expected that a wreath would be laid by the sarcophagus of President António Agostinho Neto during the celebration.
President José Eduardo dos Santos was also expected to honour all those who worked relentlessly for the country over the 40 years of the country independence.
Last month, President Khama, was in Angola for a two-day state visit at the invitation of President dos Santos.
