Lagos Deputy Governor Unveils Key Infrastructure Projects in Mosan-Okunola LCDA


Lagos: The Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, inaugurated two significant projects in Mosan-Okunola Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, the projects include the rehabilitation of 600 meters of Abeokuta Street and the newly constructed Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administrative Building. Addressing the gathering of leaders, staff, and residents, Dr. Hamzat outlined the projects’ potential to accelerate development and enhance service delivery in the community. He emphasized the improvements in mobility expected from the road rehabilitation and how the new administrative building would facilitate governance and business operations.



Dr. Hamzat further praised President Bola Tinubu for the strategic decision to create additional LCDAs in 2003, noting that it brought governance and development closer to the people. He highlighted the crucial role LCDAs play in grassroots development and expressed optimism for their national recognition. He also lauded the performance of the outgoing Mosan-Okunola LCDA Chairman, Princess Olabisi Adebajo, urging the incoming chairman to build upon the achievements made and continue the development trajectory.



The Deputy Governor stressed the importance of local governments as the foundation of national development, urging newly elected chairmen to meet citizens’ expectations and exceed the accomplishments of their predecessors. He acknowledged the exemplary performance of Lagos’s local government chairmen, commending their contributions in building infrastructure and supporting administrative staff.



Princess Olabisi Adebajo highlighted the new administrative building as a substantial investment in Okunola’s future, symbolizing her administration’s commitment to innovation and effective service delivery. The facility, equipped with over 60 modern offices, aims to enhance the public service experience both internally and externally.



Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, represented by Mrs. Ayo Olugbenro, described the inauguration as a landmark achievement reflecting strong grassroots leadership and governance. Commissioner for Local Government, Mr. Bolaji Robert, also commended Adebajo’s efforts in infrastructure, health, and welfare, urging residents to support the incoming chairman for sustained progress.



The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the new building is a two-storey smart office featuring over 60 offices, a council chamber, and a digital registry.
