More Lose Lives This Festive

Three people lost lives when a Toyota Corolla vehicle they were travelling in collided with a bus near Gojwane T-junction (between Francistown and Tonota) on December 28.

In an interview, officer commanding for district number two, Senior Superintendent Paul Molapisi said the deceased persons are a 21-year-old man, 36-year-old woman and 7-year-old boy.

However, the driver of the corolla and another passenger suffered serious injuries and are currently recuperating at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital, while three travellers from the bus sustained minor injuries.

Additional three lives were also lost at Dikabea on December 22 following an accident that involved three vehicles.

On Boxing Day, a car carrying four occupants hit a cow at Mogorosi (near Serowe) and one person lost his life in the incident.

Meanwhile, 51, 77 and 76 drivers were charged with offences of over speeding on December 21, 22, and 23 respectively .

59 cases of over speeding were recorded on December 24 and 57 on Christmas day between Radisele-Serule and Palapye-Malatswai roads.

Mr Molapisi has pleaded with the public to behave well and cooperate with the Police during the New Year’s celebrations.

He also aised parents to always be in the vicinity and monitor children when lighting fireworks as they pose danger to them and as well as their surroundings.
