Abuja: The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has praised President Bola Tinubu for his recent visit to Benue State and his efforts to promote peace in the region. The commendation was made by MACBAN's National President, Alhaji Baba Othman-Ngelzarma, in a statement issued on Wednesday.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Othman-Ngelzarma appreciated both the Federal Government and security agencies for their swift actions aimed at restoring normalcy in the affected areas. He highlighted the significance of President Tinubu's courage in urging political and traditional leaders in Benue to work towards peaceful coexistence.
Othman-Ngelzarma conveyed his condolences to the Federal Government, the Government and people of Benue State, and all Nigerians over the tragic loss of lives and property in the state. He reiterated MACBAN's commitment to fostering peaceful and harmonious coexistence among Nigeria's over 300 ethnic groups.
As a significant stakeholder in the Nigerian economy, MACBAN emphasizes the importance of peace for the prosperity of all Nigerians. Othman-Ngelzarma called on political, traditional, religious, and community leaders to promote peace between agrarian and livestock-rearing communities and to avoid divisive narratives that threaten unity.
