Maun man sues police for P80,000

| September 3, 2013

A man who alleges that Maun police assaulted him in 2011 has taken the Botswana Police Services to court claiming damages in the amount of P80,000. Bishop Jacob alleges that the police just pounced on him and assaulted him with batons while he was parked on the side of the road. Information before court is that Jacob was assaulted on the day a mob had formed outside a house following rumours that there was a woman who had turned into a snake. Local media covered the snake story in 2011.
