Ministry Supplies Furniture When Funds Permit

| July 22, 2015

The Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development, Mr Kgotla Autlwetse has told Parliament that he is aware that schools are facing shortages of some basic equipment.

As a result, Mr Autlwetse said they continue to supply schools with new furniture as funds and production could permit.Since January this year, he said his ministry has supplied some 4 613 new desks to 32 schools, including some 60 desks delivered last week on July 10 to Motsumi Junior Secondary School to partly address the issue raised.

Boteti East MP, Mr Sethomo Lelatisitswe had asked the minister if he was aware that there were two classes at Motsumi Junior Secondary School with no tables and that students use their laps as tables to write, and if so what would be done to rectify that unfortunate situation.
