Monatefela Here Again

The annual Monate Fela Home Coming Concert promises to be a thriller come December 24.

All roads will lead to Mahalapye for a concert that has become one of the biggest in the country to celebrate the Christmas holidays in a jovial mood.

In its seventh year running, the concert will be held at the Mahalapye Railway Stadium on Christmas Eve and the gates open at 10 am until late. The Monate Fela promoter, Easy B mentioned that they have a hefty line-up that includes international heavy weight DJ Fresh.

Also on the line-up are South African and Durban’s finest DJ Christos, Black Motion who has one of the festive hit songs Rainbow, and Naak Musiq will bring the house down with their latest hit Callout.

To add a fresh twist to the line-up, Ralf Gum will offer an experience to fuse German House version with the African one. In addition Easy B said that the local lads include the likes of Ricky Larmar who will battle it out with Chrispin for the decks supremacy, whilst Sasa Klaas, MMP family, and Scar will be entertaining the masses.

From the halls of The Centre in Kanye in 1999 the show is growing every year and attracting audience from as far as Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

“We are already experiencing a lot of positive hype all across the country, and some parts of the African region for this year’s Home Coming,” he said.

The Monate Fela promoter also stated that they have put measures in place to improve security, and procedures at the entrance of the event, looking at the anticipated turnout, parking and security measures for the masses. Tickets to this year’s Home Coming are sold at Liqurama stores country wide for P100, and P150 at the gate.

Music enthusiasts both young and old should come and join the MonateFela crew for fun under the sun and to experience the class, experience and diversity that Botswana artistes and DJs have to offer.
