MTN Business expands services

MTN Business Botswana has reaffirmed its commitment to use its extensive capabilities in the telecommunications sector to provide relevant, quality and affordable ICT solutions to local businesses.

MTN Botswana has been operating since March 2009, and was formerly known as Verizon Business Botswana before it was bought by Mobile Telephone Networks in 2008.

MTN Business, which operates as an Internet provider in Botswana, is a subsidiary of the MTN Group.

The group focuses on the provision of ICT services to small and medium businesses (SMES) as well as large and multinational customers.

Briefing the media, the finance and administration manager of MTN Business Botswana, Mr Mthulisi Malinga said their key strategic capability pillars are: Connect, communicate and collaborate. He said they continue to build platforms and products through which clients could propel their businesses forward and contribute significantly to the economy.

He said among the solutions MTN Business offers were software service, Internet security, data centre management and cloud services, management network and communications solutions to mention a few.

Mr Malinga added that they offer a wide range of innovative technologies that were tailored to suit customers needs and requirements, and in turn improving productivity and minimising operating costs.

“Moreover, we provide a set of uniquely converged communications services in the ICT industry.

With a focus on leveraging on our IP network and expertise we continuously deliver innovative products which offer simplicity and unsurpassed value to our customers, making their business communication a lot more effective and efficient,” he said.

He said their role was to enable and inspire growth in Africa and across the wider markets in which they operate by providing Internet solutions that answer the needs of clients.

Mr Malinga said although their current focus was on corporate clients and SMEs, there was a huge opportunity in extending their services to residential and customer markets, which has prompted them to develop a broadband service suitable for both residential and small owner home markets.
