New Boys FC Triumph Over One Touch FC in AMAC Unity Cup Final

Abuja: New Boys Football Club of Karu, Abuja, emerged victorious in the 2025 Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Unity Cup after defeating One Touch FC of Games Village 4-3 in a tense penalty shootout. The tightly contested match held at the Area 3 Football Pitch concluded in a deadlock, with both teams tied 1-1 in regulation time.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the final match was organized by AMAC Football Coaches Council and witnessed an early goal from New Boys FC's Paul Henry in the 10th minute. One Touch FC managed to equalize with a goal from Jonathan Nuhu in the 75th minute. Despite numerous scoring opportunities, neither team could secure a win in regular play, leading to the decisive penalty shootout.

New Boys FC displayed superior precision during the penalties, securing a 4-3 victory. This win added another accolade to their achievements, having previously defeated G-Medix Football Academy 3-1 to secure their place in the final. One Touch FC earned their final spot with a 1-0 victory over Gwarinpa United.

Head Coach of New Boys, Ayala Bashiru, expressed his gratitude and praised his team's consistent performance throughout the competition. He emphasized the importance of preparation for future tournaments and credited the officials for fair play.

Conversely, Jeffery Okoli, Head Coach of One Touch FC, acknowledged the unpredictable nature of penalty shootouts and encouraged his team to remain optimistic about future endeavors. He emphasized that their journey does not end with this loss and stressed the importance of resilience and regrouping for upcoming challenges.

The AMAC Unity Cup's sixth edition saw participation from 23 teams, running from June 3 to June 28. This victory stands as a testament to New Boys FC's skill and determination throughout the tournament.
