Abuja: The Federal Government has expressed its condolences to the Indian government following the crash of Air India Flight-171 in Ahmedabad. The tragic incident has claimed the lives of over 290 individuals, drawing global attention and mourning.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, conveyed Nigeria's profound sorrow and heartfelt condolences to the government and people of India. In a statement issued by Kimiebi Ebienfa, Spokesperson of the Ministry, Tuggar highlighted Nigeria's solidarity with India during this period of grief and loss. While initial reports suggest no Nigerian citizens were aboard the ill-fated flight, the Nigeria High Commission in New Delhi is maintaining close contact with Indian authorities to confirm this information and offer consular support if necessary.
In his statement, the minister emphasized Nigeria's commitment to global aviation safety and endorsed calls for a comprehensive investigation into the crash.
