NIPSS Alumni to Host 45th AGM at Kuru

Abuja: The Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) is set to convene its 45th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, according to a statement released by retired Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman, AANI National Publicity Secretary. The event will take place at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru, Jos, Plateau.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the meeting will gather a diverse group of attendees, including top public officials, security chiefs, royal dignitaries, and members of the Institute's alumni from all over the country. This year's AGM is noteworthy as it will coincide with the election of a new National Executive Committee (NEC) that will guide the Association's activities for the coming two years.

The AGM serves as a significant platform for policy and strategy professionals who are committed to national transformation. It offers an opportunity for critical reflections on AANI's strategic role in advancing national development. Prominent attendees expected at the event include Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, Executive Governor of Borno State; Honourable Minister of Defence, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar; and the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar III.

Notable figures such as the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General OO Oluyede, and Head of Service of the Federation, Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack, are also anticipated to participate, along with other leaders from various security agencies, the private sector, civil society, and academia. The discussions will focus on national interests and advancing the aims of the Association.

The AGM will include an address by AANI President, Ambassador Emmanuel Okafor, and a speech from Plateau's Governor, Caleb Mutfwang. A keynote lecture will be delivered by Prof. Okey Ikechukwu, a noted expert in Strategic Management and Human Capital Development.

AANI upholds its motto, 'Towards a Better Society', by engaging in shaping policy, promoting unity, and contributing to Nigeria's development through strategic engagement and advocacy. The 45th AGM is expected to be a landmark event in this ongoing journey, with full participation from all Institute members encouraged.
