Nthumolang Sinks Ezinkomo

Botswana Railways Highlanders attacker, Otarongwa Nthumolang scored a goal in a similar fashion in each half to ensure a 2-1 victory over BMC 2-1 and secure maximum points for the Mahalapye side on saturday.

The stocky leftfooted player fired home a grass-cutter midway through first half before repeating the feat in the dying minutes of the second half to interrupt BMC’s efforts of closing in on log leaders Township Rollers.

Though Ezinkomo, as BMC are affectionately known, equalised early second half through Kenanao ‘Flo’ Kgetholetsile’s header, Highlanders looked set to pocket maximum points by dictating terms throughout the last stanza.

Just when the ten men BMC thought they had snatched a point home, Nthumolang took aantage of the sluggish BMC defence after receiving a telling pass to slot home another grass-cutter in the near post.

Highlanders have now accumulated ten points into their cart but are still grappling with evading the relegation zone after sharing spoils with another struggling side ECCO City Greens, midweek.

City Greens were hauled over the coals by impressive yet inconsistent Sankoyo Bush Bucks alas Ngurungu at Maun Sports Complex while another bottom placed side Letlapeng of Ramotswa shared spoils with NICO United.

On the other hand, BMC suffered a major blow in their efforts catch-up against log leaders Rollers who beat Motlakase Power Dynamos by a single goal, Friday November 5. BMC also fell victim to Rollers wrath a few weeks back succumbing to a 3-0 loss in Molepolole.

In the first half, Daniel ‘Chico Dance’ Nare substituted Mathews Moruti for Boitshoko Zikhale who, immediately, succumbed to a shoulder injury and was rushed to the hospital. Zikhale was then replaced by Kaone Molefhe.
