The Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Slumber Tsogwane, has told parliament that due to the limited budget during the last two years of the National Development Plan (NDP) 10, there is no elaborate plan for water and electricity reticulationnetwork extensions in all the villages including those in the Shashe West constituency.

However, he said the Ministry of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources, for which he was responding, was currently undertaking a country wide assessment of electricity reticulation and network extensions to be included in the next planning cycle (NDP 11) and Shashe West constituency will be considered subject to the availability of funds.

MP for Shashe West Mr Fidelis Molao had asked the minister whether there was an elaborate plan for water and electricity reticulationnetwork extension in all the villages in Shashe West constituency.

He had also asked him to state when would the plan be rolled out to enable the residents of his constituency to have access to these services and if not, whether he considered it urgent to have such a plan and share it with all the stakeholders so that they know where they are in in terms of getting the services.
