The prosecution in a case in which Matshidiso Sesike, who is accused of the murder of her boyfriend, has successfully applied for the committal of the matter to the High Court for possible trial.
Making the application last Wednesday, prosecutor from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Ms Thato Gower informed Village Chief Magistrate, Ms Linah Mokibe-Oahile that everything was in place and that they have already served Sesike with necessary documents to familiarise herself with.
The court agreed to commit Sesike on her next appearance on August 8. In view of this, Sesike engaged the court and wanted to know her fate regarding her bail which she was granted by the same court.
However, magistrate Mokibe-Oahile said the issue would be looked into during the next sitting appearance.
Procedurally, when one has been granted bail by a magistrate court in a murder case, the bail is automatically revoked when the matter is committed to the High Court.
This means that the accused will have to apply for bail afresh from the High Court.
The accused has a seven-month-old baby whom she has recently weaned. She is accused of stabbing to death her boyfriend Kabelo Louw of Ramatlabama, whom they stayed together in Mmopane on December 13, 2014.
