Swallows, UB Kicks in stalemate

| September 28, 2015

Kanye Swallows and UB Kicks shared the spoils in a luke-warm Women Football League encounter at Swallows Ground in Kanye over the weekend. The duo scored a goal each half in a game which started with slow build-ups and poor finishing.

However, as the game progressed, UB Kicks began to settle and managed to string together passes; something that forced Kanye Swallows to commit silly errors. On the 28th-minute UB Kicks took the lead from a set-piece.

After recess, Kanye Swallows started to apply pressure on UB Kicks and the pressure paid off minutes before the end of the match when Marata Silabo unleashed a powerful shot to level matters.

UB Kicks coach Alex Malete said the results was not a true reflection of the game saying although his team created most of the chances they failed to convert them. However, Malete said the point they got from the Saturday encounter was better than nothing.

Kanye Swallows coach Papi Kgomotso whose team suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat at the hands of Double Action in the previous weekend decried lack of confidence on the ball by his players.

Meanwhile, Township Rollers clobbered Untouchable 5-0 at Mma-Masire Ground on Sunday.

Rollers made their intension clear when they netted their first goal less than a minute from kick off through Bame Ngenda.

In the 10th minute Ngenda netted the second goal and in the 20th minute Untouchable committed an error inside the box, which resulted in Rollers winning a penalty and Gosego Lekoko increased the score to 3-0.
