Ngamiland acting district commissioner, Mr Keabetswe Lesiela has commended Tawana Land Board (TLB) management for their commitment to the annual excellence awards.

Speaking at the awards ceremony in Maun recently, Mr Lesiela said the fifth annual awards showed commitment by TLB to motivate the employees to work harder. Mr Lesiela noted that they managed a great asset in the virtue of land in a prime area such as Ngamiland region and they faced many challenges.

He said the economic value of land has in the past led the land board to be in the wrong with cases of land dealings that went before the courts.

However, the acting district commissioner called on the staff to use the awards as a moment to reflect and take stock of themselves and to move forward.

Mr Lesiela said that the awards were a moment to motivate both the achievers and non-achievers to work excellently.

Meanwhile, 45 employees were awarded certificates, trophy and P500 cheques under different categories such as best cadre awards, best team player, and best long service award amongst others. Ms Kagiso Rebaone scooped the best employee of the year award.
