Kano: President Bola Tinubu has paid a heartfelt tribute to Nigeria's esteemed business mogul, the late Alhaji Aminu Dantata. Tinubu, represented by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, conveyed his condolences on Thursday in Kano during a visit to the family of the recently deceased business magnate.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the Nigerian leader urged citizens to adopt the commendable traits of the late Dantata, particularly his philanthropic efforts. President Tinubu highlighted that Dantata's passing is a significant loss not only to his family but also to Nigeria and the global Muslim community.
The President's message, delivered by the Vice-President, emphasized Dantata's legacy of kindness and assistance to people across the world. He expressed hopes for Dantata's eternal peace and offered condolences to the bereaved family.
Tinubu also noted that Dantata's life and contributions should be celebrated, encouraging his children and family members to uphold harmony in memory of their patriarch.
On behalf of the Dantata family, Alhaji Munzali Dantata expressed gratitude to President Tinubu and Vice-President Shettima for their empathy and support. He disclosed the late Aminu Dantata's wish to be buried in Saudi Arabia, a request the Saudi government honored.
The Vice-President was accompanied by several dignitaries, including the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, and former Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke (SAN).
Aminu Dantata, who passed away on Saturday, June 28, in Dubai at age 94, was interred on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, in Medina, Saudi Arabia. The late business titan, uncle to Aliko Dangote, Africa's wealthiest businessman, is survived by three wives, 21 children, and over 100 grandchildren.
