Tinubu Lauds Infrastructural Milestones in Federal Capital Territory


Abuja: President Bola Tinubu expressed satisfaction with the ongoing infrastructural transformation in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), highlighting the efforts to invigorate its economy and enhance social wellbeing. During the inauguration of a newly constructed interchange connecting Wole Soyinka Way to Murtala Mohammed Expressway, Tinubu, represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, praised the significant developments in the FCT.



According to News Agency of Nigeria, the interchange is one of 11 projects completed out of 17 planned to mark Tinubu’s second year in office. The president commended FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and his team for their achievements, noting that the transformation aligns with his administration’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ which emphasizes robust infrastructure to bolster the country’s economy and improve social welfare.



Tinubu stressed that the interchange will facilitate better traffic flow, unlocking new commercial opportunities and enhancing productivity. He described it as a testament to the government’s commitment to progress and a more connected FCT. Acknowledging the challenges of rapid urbanization, Tinubu highlighted the interchange as a solution to traffic congestion and safety issues, aiming to improve the daily lives of residents and commuters.



Minister Wike shared insights on the project’s completion, which began in 2020 and was finalized under Tinubu’s leadership. He emphasized the importance of finishing abandoned projects for societal and economic benefits, attributing the success to Tinubu’s leadership style. Wike also appreciated the support from the National Assembly, attributing recent achievements to Tinubu’s visionary leadership and dedication to transforming Abuja into a world-class capital.



FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, echoed these sentiments, recognizing the completed interchange as a reflection of Tinubu’s commitment to enhancing the transportation network for residents’ ease of movement within the FCT.
