Abuja: The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has commended President Bola Tinubu for his leadership and economic reforms over the past two years. Idris highlighted the president’s efforts during an appearance on ‘Politics Today’, a Channels Television programme, noting that Tinubu has implemented significant reforms to reposition Nigeria’s economy.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Idris emphasized that the Tinubu administration has taken bold steps to address longstanding economic issues. The unification of the exchange rate and the removal of the fuel subsidy were cited as crucial policy decisions aimed at setting the foundation for sustainable growth. Despite the challenges faced by Nigerians, Idris stated that the administration is on the right path toward long-term prosperity.
The minister noted that Tinubu’s approach is not focused on short-term solutions but on creating a stable foundation for future growth. His vision is to leave a lasting legacy for future generations, ensuring economic progress and development. Idris also highlighted key initiatives such as the student loan scheme, the establishment of the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation, and the implementation of a new National Minimum Wage as evidence of the administration’s commitment to improving living conditions.
Idris further addressed the administration’s efforts in enhancing national security. He praised Tinubu’s leadership in fostering coordination among military and security agencies to tackle terrorism and other criminal activities. The president has issued clear instructions to restore peace across Nigeria, with a focus on areas like Benue.
