Trouble brews in Gunners camp

Extension Gunners’ poor form has plunged the team into another crisis. Various supporters branches on Saturday (October 31) unanimously voted to slap the Kitso Dlamini-led committee with a motion of no confidence.

The development came in the wake of a long spell of poor results posted by the team in recent weeks after a great start which saw the team top of the be Mobile Premiership.

The performance has since taken a nose dive and the team is now struggling,and the recent unfavourable results opened a can of worms with the team management accused of failing on the players welfare, failure to secure sponsorship and allegations of misappropriation of funds, among other issues.

Gunners crisis began after a month into the new season which led to the sacking of coach, Keitumetse Paul.

On Saturday, the scheduled meeting between management and supporters branches failed after the latter did not attend.

However, seven out of 12 branches present went ahead and voted that the committee should be shown the exit door and hand all the team’s property as a matter of urgency.

The club’s, spokesperson Keorapetse Kgasa said constitutionally, the branches did not have a right to call the executive committee for a meeting.

He said meetings could only be convened by the chairperson, adding that “they could have requested the chairman to call the meeting for them at least” he said

Kgasa admitted that the branches had invited them for Saturday’s meeting but they communicated back to them that the day was not conducive.

“We suggested that we meet on Sunday (October 1), now I am shocked to learn that they met on Saturday and agreed to slap the committee with a motion of no confidence, but as it is we have not received a communication to that effect “he said.

Furthermore, he said they had agreed on meeting them this coming Saturday to listen to their grievances, adding that the outcome of the meeting will therefore determine way forward.
