Two Borolong Roads Not in NDP 10

The Minister of Infrastructure, Science and Technology, Mr Nonofo Molefhi has told parliament that the tarring of Good Hope-Gathwane and Borobadilepe-Mokatako roads is not included in the National Development Plan 10.

Mr Molefhi said the roads would be considered for inclusion in future development plans subject to availability of funds however, he stated that in order to maintain a smooth riding quality, dry grading was carried out on these roads.

He said the Goodhope- Gathwane road was graded inhouse at a targeted frequency of once per month adding that the road was last graded on November 16-17.

Mr Molefhi, who was responding on behalf of the Minister of Transport and Communications, stated that the grading of the Borobadilepe-Mokatako road was outsourced for 12 months from June 2014 to June 2015.

He said the road was graded twice each month the first grading slot for November was carried out on November 11,12 and 13, 2014 while the second slot was scheduled to be done between November 21 and 30 2014.

MP for Goodhope-Mabule Mr James Mathokgwane had asked the minister whether the tarring of Goodhope-Gathwane and Borobadilepe-Mokatako roads were in the NDP 10 and if not, state whether these roads would be included in any plan in the foreseeable future.
