Academy Urges Youths to Embrace Skill Development for Economic Growth

Abuja: The Creative Director and Founder of African Guru Academy, Abuja, Abdulhakim Abdulkarim, has urged the youths to embrace skill development as a catalyst for economic growth. Abdulkarim made the call during a ‘Skill to Gold’ hangout event which took place at the Millennium Park on Saturday in Abuja.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Abdulkarim emphasized the importance of youthfulness and the need for young people to be intentional in pursuing their purpose and passion. He highlighted the importance of aligning one’s passion with profit, noting that financial success can drive individuals to achieve more when it is linked to their interests. He stressed the role of entrepreneurs in solving economic challenges and emphasized the need for skills as tools to address future problems, especially in a digital and AI-driven age. The African Guru Academy aims to empower youths by developing skills in graphics design, video content creation, and AI prompting.

Mary Agbonika, a civil servant, encouraged youths to stop complaining and instead utilize their gifts and skills. She urged young people to fully express themselves, highlighting that everyone has innate abilities that need to be identified, honed, and expressed to make a positive impact on society.

Egena Elvis, the Executive Director of Blissway Resources, reminded youths that they are in control of their future. He encouraged them to make informed decisions and take actions that align with their desired outcomes. Elvis stressed the importance of learning relevant skills that can be exchanged for services, contributing to economic growth through the exchange of products and services.
