FCT’s Infrastructural Development Fulfilling Tinubu’s Vision – Wike

Abuja: The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, has described the ongoing infrastructural development in the FCT as a ‘fulfilment of President Bola Tinubu’s vision’ for the nation’s capital. Wike made these remarks while inaugurating the construction of Mohammed Isa Road Extension in Asokoro District, Abuja.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, Wike addressed critics who claimed that Tinubu was not working, stating that such assertions were unfounded. He emphasized that the FCT’s progress is a direct result of President Tinubu’s directives and vision, aimed at making the FCT competitive with other major cities globally. Wike urged Nigerians to acknowledge the ongoing developments, suggesting that earlier completion of such projects would have allowed the administration to allocate resources elsewhere.

Wike highlighted the transformation in Abuja over the past two years and assured that the city would continue to evolve. He called for sustained support for the current administration, citing Tinubu’s leadership and commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians. The minister elaborated on the ongoing investment in schools’ rehabilitation and interventions in various sectors, stressing the government’s intention to ensure balanced development throughout the FCT.

He reassured residents that all sectors, including transport, roads, sports, education, and health, would receive attention. Wike urged patience from the public, explaining that the execution of these projects requires time. He also stressed the importance of resource availability for planned developments and encouraged residents to support the administration by paying taxes, which are crucial for funding infrastructure projects such as roads, drainage systems, and street lighting.
