First Lady Urges Christian Youth to Foster Love and Unity for National Development

Abuja: The First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Christian youth to consistently demonstrate love towards their neighbors as a means to promote national development. Tinubu emphasized the importance of avoiding judgments based on religious beliefs, urging young people to lead efforts in fostering unity and compassion.

According to News Agency of Nigeria, the First Lady shared her insights during a meeting with the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), whom she hosted for an Easter Brunch at the State House in Abuja. Tinubu expressed her appreciation for the group’s visit and their show of love, noting that sacrificial love and compassion are vital in transforming the world. She encouraged the youth to be proactive in promoting gender equity, highlighting opportunities for women to excel in the country.

The National Chairman of YOWICAN, Mr. Belusochukwu Enwerem, conveyed the group’s gratitude to the First Lady for her interventions. In a gesture of support for the First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative, Enwerem announced the launch of the ‘Renewed Hope Neighbour2Neighbour Movement’ and honored the First Lady by naming her the Grand Patron of the group. The News Agency of Nigeria notes that this visit marked the second Easter homage by YOWICAN to the First Lady, providing an opportunity for the group members to share Easter greetings and enjoy a meal with their patron.

As part of her support for YOWICAN’s evangelical mission across the nation, Mrs. Tinubu announced the donation of seven 14-seater CNG-powered buses to the organization.
