Abuja: The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced plans to launch an enhanced system for processing driver’s licences and vehicle number plates this month, aiming for improved service delivery across the nation. The announcement was made by FRSC Corps Marshal, Malam Shehu Mohammed, during the 2025 Customer Service Week celebration in Abuja.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, Mohammed emphasized that the upgraded system would reduce waiting times, expedite processing, and enhance data integrity. This initiative is part of a larger strategy to modernize FRSC operations through technological advancements. He acknowledged the essential role of customers’ trust and loyalty in achieving road safety goals, describing them as crucial partners in the corps’ success.
Mohammed expressed gratitude to FRSC personnel and customers for their cooperation and dedication, assuring that the corps would continue to advocate for effective legislation, policy implementation, and enforcement to reduce road accidents, fatalities, and injuries nationwide. He also addressed recent challenges faced by applicants in obtaining driver’s licences and number plates, acknowledging the delays and difficulties encountered.
He apologized for the inconvenience caused and assured that the FRSC is upgrading its technology and systems to enhance efficiency. The new system is expected to launch within the month, promising improved service delivery. The Corps Marshal also urged motorists and road users to adhere to traffic regulations to ensure road safety, emphasizing the importance of obedience to traffic rules as the foundation of safety on the roads.
