Uyo: Gov. Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom has attributed the success of his administration within two years in office to teamwork, public support, and the grace of God. Eno, who made the statement in Uyo during a media interaction marking his administration’s two-year anniversary, expressed gratitude to the people of Akwa Ibom for their unwavering support.
According to News Agency of Nigeria, the governor emphasized the significant goodwill and backing his administration has received since taking office on May 29, 2023. He highlighted the collaborative efforts of his cabinet and the community’s support as key elements that have empowered his leadership to effectively serve the state.
Gov. Eno reassured the residents of Akwa Ibom of his dedication to delivering the benefits of democracy in alignment with his administration’s Arise Agenda. He promised that the state would experience further development across its 31 local government areas in the coming two years.
The governor mentioned that independent organizations have assessed his government’s performance, and he believes they are on the right path. He expressed confidence that the midterm report of his first tenure reflects a progress of over 50 percent. He cited achievements in agriculture, rural development, infrastructure, security, and education as evidence of the administration’s accomplishments.
Eno also encouraged the people of Akwa Ibom to engage in farming as a strategic measure to reduce the cost of essential food items. The government, he assured, would continue to support farmers with necessary inputs and grants to ensure food security.
Additionally, the governor announced plans to employ 31 computer teachers across the state’s model primary schools to provide ICT training to pupils, showcasing a commitment to advancing education in the region.
